FENOMEN: Platform for modeling and generating Connected Business Applications

FENOMEN is developing an innovative platform, enabling modeling, generating and
hosting of complex connected business applications. Generated applications are web applications,
deployed on the FENOMEN mutualized platform. The creation of these applications on the FENOMEN platform is carried out through functional modeling and automatic generation and updating of these applications. The implementation of applications on the FENOMEN platform doesn’t require development (coding) efforts or a minimum effort in the case existing applications are extended. It does therefore not require any software development knowledge. Necessary core competencies are business analysis competencies and a good knowledge of the ergonomics and use of web applications in general. |

Modeling is an activity that provides non-developers users with a mean to easily define their functional needs. Modeling is done through the use of several high level tools (designers) that enable the straightforward representation of the various areas of a business application: business entities and relationships, business rules and security rules as well as workflows, graphical user interface (GUI), internationalization and more.
The FENOMEN platform supports the integration of custom developments (using Microsoft.NET technologies) whenever the FENOMEN's modeling tools are not sufficient, which could be the case in the scenario of extending an existing custom application. However custom coding will remain limited to a minimum.
Our goal is the modeling and generation of connected applications. By connected applications, we mean applications which consume and/or produce external data. External data to us is data which is not directly embedded in the application. It is therefore possible to create applications connected to the entreprise and partners' existing data.
