FENOMEN : Where do we come from?

Business application development usually is very expensive and remains out of reach of small and middle-sized companies. Additionally, software development projects are difficult to control and high risks of failure remain, the most common and critical issues being: inadequacy to user’s needs and / or cost and deadline overrun. Moreover software development, despite being a state-of-the-art technology, remains hand-crafted with a low level of sharing between different projects. The new technologies have now reached a relatively mature stage that can potentially allow to succeed in setting-up an industrial process and supporting tools involving modeling and automatic generation of software business applications. And it will be a proper resolution for the issues of high price / low control stated before. However, the market is still waiting for a fully integrated solution that will go much beyond the partial solutions that exist today, and will allow an emerging industrial age for business application development.

These elements together with the long experience of project leader Walter Almeida (14 years of experience in business application development and IT project management) have led to a preliminary study which has confirmed this promising business opportunity for FENOMEN.

Fenomen’s innovative approach

The company FENOMEN was founded in March 2010 in order to develop and carry out the project FENOMEN.

FENOMEN is a startup company, supported by Microsoft and the program Microsoft® BizSpark (TM). The project FENOMEN is an innovative approach, source of research and development and multiple technological innovations. FENOMEN has the JEI (young innovating company) label, issued by the French Research Ministry.
